Queen Elizabrth

Cunard Queen Elizabeth (QE2)

Travelled on QE2 back in Feb 2020 just before the world was in lockdown due COVID. We did a 4 day cruise from Melbourne via Sydney to Brisbane. The ship continued on to Papua New Guinea and after that lockdown happened. The ship has lovely art deco interior as you will see from the video and the cabins have been renovated and extra wardrobes have been added.  The bathrooms are small just like most of the Carnival group of ships. That is PO, Princess and Carnival. The food at Britannia Restaurant was good but the service was very quick were we sat and only took 45 mins for dinner every night. This could have been better. We did spend time at the Champaign bar before dinner enjoying vintage Laurent-Perrier champagne. In the afternoons at sea they have the High Tea held in the Queens room and this is something not to be missed. Very nice experience and a signature dish for Cunard. They also have great cocktail bars and their specialty is 3 Queens Gin. There are 3 Gins dedicated to their ships. Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth. We also eat a very big meal at The Veranda. Don’t eat anything before you eat here, as this is American size meals (way to big). The Lido Buffet is small and I found not much to select from for breakfast. You are better off at the Britannia Restaurant.

In all I found the clients on this ship for the Cruise to Papua New Guinea were mostly over 70+ and it felt like a retirement home with many grumpy old people? The cruise from Melbourne to Sydney were fun loving and everyone was there for a good time. If you are thinking of a cruise on Cunard just keep this in mind for longer cruise.

Welcome to my blog,

We all wish to travel and explore what the world has to offer. Our desires to experience different cultures, customs and sights from around the world.

My goal is to assist you in planning your travel experiences. I realise there is a mine field on the internet with regards to hundreds of deals/sales, except a majority are not to be trusted. Some air deals have lots of hidden surprises e.g. excessive fees for any changes, also some have 3 and more stops on the way to Europe. As a trained Travel Agent/Advisor I can help you make more informed choices.

As I work for myself, I have the ability to visit you at your convenience and discuss your travel plans.

I have been traveling for most of my adult life and have travelled with my children, from infants to teenagers, therefore I understand what you require to make the journey enjoyable for the whole family.

Over the next few months I will be adding stories, reviews and general travel information, also photos of my journeys and adventures.

Please check out my new web site. We have live Cruises and Air fare prices and Hotel availability.

If I can help you in anyway please call 1300 326 440
